On the occasion of the 146th Birthday of the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas, Sisters at Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra, Bendur, Mangalore, organized food kit distribution to poor deserving families. 29 families from Panjimoguru were identified. Sr Shanthi Priya, the director of Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra, briefed the gathering the compassionate love of our Founder, who started this Congregation in 1921, that has spread its wings in three continents. On this day, we are proud she said that our Bethany Congregation has become international and has four newly professed Sisters from Tanzania who have made their commitment. She said that our vision is to reach out to the poor and the marginalized.

The beneficiaries were given a food kit each worth of Rs 750/- and a protein box and soaps. It was a joyful moment for all.All were served snacks and coffee.

Today Sr Leena D’Costa, the programme coordinator of Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra, the Social work wing of the Bethany Social Service Trust ®Bendur , Mangalore conducted awareness programme on anti-human trafficking at Infant Jesus Church, Pavoor, Ulia. Ms Eveline Bennis, DHM from Roshni Nilaya Mangalore, the School of Social Work, HOD of the MSW department ,the resource person of the day, enlightened the people to take precautionary measures to safe guard against the heinous crime of trafficking women, girl children as well as organ trade,going on across our country, State and in our Society. Sahodaya also distributed to the 38 families of this Island materials like buckets,mugs, bedsheets, towels, protein boxes, soaps etc. All were served breakfast. Ms Ranjini was present. Fr Gerald Lobo OFM the Parish Priest, thanked the organization on behalf of the people.
